I just wanted to post about an interesting game I've been playing lately. Raising sims are pretty rare so I'm always happy to discover a new one! I'll probably post a review on Nekoworld later, but for now, here's some basic info:
Lair Land (the full name is "Lair Land 蘭島物語 少女の約定" or "レアランドストーリー" - more about that later) is a game with both raising sim and adventure (visual novel style) elements. The point-of-view character is charged with taking care of a mysterious girl who lost her memory. The raising sim part is quite similar to the Princess Maker series. In the adventure part, you visit locations around town and talk to various characters - even without the raising sim gameplay, this part alone could be considered a pretty standard full-length visual novel with romantic elements (POV character and the girl can either end up together or get an ending with someone else!)
One feature I find interesting is that you earn points for completing the game and you can spend them on unlocking new hairstyles and outfits. Sounds like a good idea - we might actually start adding that to our own games!
The game was originaly developed in Hong Kong by Circle Entertainment (PC version, Chinese language only as far as I know, although the voices are Japanese) and later ported to PSP in Japan by Arc System Works as "レアランドストーリー" (this version seems to be a bit more polished).
