RPG Maker Resources

Since it never hurts to have a few additional actions for the default characters from RPG Maker, here are some basic loopable animations.

As always - don't forget to read the Terms of use for RPG Maker XP resources. If you don't know how to use them, take a look at short instructions.

Cauldron again, this time as a spritesheet just so it's easier to import into RPG MAker.

Did you make these sprites yourself? And how do you animate them like that? I always been interested in making my own RPG game, but I still got a lot of learning to do first.

The sprites are based on RPG Maker's default set. For example the "Civilian" character (the lady in blue dress) had just the basic "walking" animation so the broom, basket etc were added (and hands changed accordingly). The animation for the cauldron is done from scratch (except for the cauldron itself).

Producing additions for the already existing characters makes incorporating the new graphics easier for people that already use the default set. At one point we also considered making some completely new sprites but decided against it in the end and opted for just following the default RPG maker style and system of animations (mirroring frames, using only keyframes etc).

The software used is ProMotion.

Good to know and thank you. My game using RPG maker is not going to get started anytime soon, but it's good to know where to find the resources I need when I start.
