It was really impressive. I am amazed by the intro, the amount of cute little cut scene. Everything is so polished and well presented. I really like the idea of fighting "objects", and almost everything in this game just oozes the word cute! The only downside is that it is ridiculously short. I was surprised when I won lol No wonder there isn't a save button (Or is there?)

P.S I also make games and most people said about my games being short despite the amount of effort and time I put into. So I can understand the difficulty in making a longer game. So don't consider my comment in negative light. It's more along the line of "it's too awesome, I want more!" :D

Thanks for the comments :) it's nice to hear you liked it - and sorry it's not a bit longer.

It doesn't have a "save" button - at one point we even considered implementing it but for a game this "long" there's probably no need for it. The whole experience was meant to resemble the reading of a comicbook on a train ride where you just flip through the pages and throw it in the bin afterwards...

btw which ending did you get?

There are different endings?
Cool! I will play the game again and check it out! :D

The ending I got is Buta got his soccer ball. How many endings are there?

And I am not throwing this to the bin. It's a crime to throw something this cute away! I am keeping it for good! XD

Endings:

There are two endings based on whether you beat the granny in the last fight. To get the "stockbroker" ending just let the granny beat ButaVX.

Ouch! That's what I figured! I have some questions on "how to lose"
What does Intimidate, Inspire and wordbomb do? I am quite confused to what they actually do.
I actually tried to not hitting Grandma, but I still ended up winning >_<'''

Btw, some stuff I wish there is in the game is an option to run away from battle. I anyhow play the game and yet I feel I am still to strong coz the granny died in a turn lol

This is a very cute game, and I had a lot of fun playing it. The battles were fun, the art was whimsical, and I especially love the journal. It's nice to see the world through the eyes of a young adventurer. I felt kinda guilty when I beat the granny. ^_^;; Next time, I'm aiming for the alternate ending. XD

To see a short reminder of what Wordbomb etc do, just press space during the battle - more indepth:

Intimidate - lowers enemy stat
Inspire - rises ButaVX's attack stat
Wordbomb - has a chance of killing everything onscreen depending on ButaVX's attack (and some other) stats. The policeman in the closed courtyard actually gives you a mystical hint about this at one point I think? Not sure but in any case that's how it works.

Maybe this should have been in the readme file after all

So if you don't want to hit the granny, just get inspired and inspired...

Think of ButaVX's feelings! I mean, not returning the ball... that's just wrong XD
