We'll be seeing more of Miles Edgeworth.
Capcom has made an Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth demo available to play online in English! In this demo, you get to examine Edgeworth’s office with the new point-and-click interface, and test the new “Logic” system, one of the series’ biggest new features. Obviously, the demo contains spoilers, but I played it anyway since the first case in each Ace Attorney game is usually more of a tutorial than a real full-blown “case”. It certainly looks promising!
You can play it online here:
Phoenix Wright / Ace Attorney series is what got me interested in visual novels in the first place so I’m always glad to see a new game is coming out. I’m happy Edgeworth finally got his own series since I always liked him better than Wright and the whole Apollo Justice concept took some strange direction (In an interview, the developers actually said the key concept is “youthfulness” – what about older gamers? The new, “youthful” designs don’t really appeal to me. I thought the original characters were way too young for their law careers to begin with, no need to go any further with this
)
What I don’t like, however, is that unlike the previous games in Ace Attorney series, this one isn’t available in a bilingual edition. I usually buy the original Japanese version of gyakuten saiban – it contains an English version as an option – and I had great fun comparing the translation to the original. Sadly, this isn’t possible any more.
